About the Position: This position is located at Fort Carson, Colorado. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Cook Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks including cooking and preparing food, I follow recipes making adjustments for serving sizes. I can interpret menus, policies, regulations and procedures; explain standards of food quality and quantity; review food preparation in progress and on completion. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Work involves lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, standing, and walking. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to lift heavier objects with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee is exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures, must stand on tile floor, subject to burns, cuts and other injuries from hand tools or power equipment. Required to work at any Cadet Mess facility, including off post camps. The employee is required to wear protective shoes, appropriate hearing protection, and gloves or other safety and food handling items required by food handling guides.
