Job Description
This IT Program Manager, GS-2210-14 NF is located in National Science Foundation. The primary purpose of the position is to provide technical and/or operational expertise, advice, guidance, and recommendations regarding technical IT systems, functions, and processes in their program areas, ensuring compliance with Federal government and NSF policies and standards. Qualifications: The specific areas of expertise for this recruitment include IT User Experience, IT Systems Life Cycle, and/or IT Database Management. To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 Level in the federal service managing IT programs, systems, and/or processes, AND providing IT technical and operational expertise in one of the following areas: IT User experience Program: Designing, testing, and improving digital user experiences. Ensuring digital services are aligned with organizational needs. Researching and analyzing user activities. Ensuring accessibility and compliance with defined user requirements. IT Systems Lifecycle Process: Planning and designing system requirements. Installing and deploying hardware, software, operating systems, etc. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues. Ensuring system compatibility, retiring, sanitizing, and disposing of outdated systems. IT Database Management: Storing, protecting, and retrieving large volumes of structured and unstructured data Overseeing database back-ups and restoring data as needed. Supporting the process of extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data using a variety of tools. Maintaining information about data structure, relationships, and constraints, and identifying database gaps and offering solutions for improvement. Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Requirements for the 2210 series as listed below: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
