Job Description
As an IT Specialist (AI Data Engineer) with the US Office of Personnel Management, Office of the Chief Information Officer, Products and Data Engineering Division, you will develop, test, maintain, and support automated data pipelines and AI-assisted data engineering solutions that support OPM mission operations, stakeholder needs, and reliable data-driven services. Qualifications: Basic Requirement for the Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210 occupation: You must have Information Technology (IT) related experience demonstrating each of the following competencies:1)Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail;2)Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services;3) Oral Communication - Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations .Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Requirements for GS-09 Grade Level: Applicants must have one of the following: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or successfully completed two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field related to this position. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or equivalent, performing information technology work that includes all of the following: Assisting with the development, maintenance, testing, or support of data pipelines using data processing languages or query tools; Applying established procedures to support cloud-based development, deployment, testing, or operations activities; Using artificial intelligence, automation, or code review tools to support coding, documentation, testing, data quality checks, or troubleshooting; and Gathering data requirements, preparing technical documentation, or providing status updates to technical staff, customers, or stakeholders. An equivalent combination of higher-level education and specialized experience Requirements for the GS-11 level: Applicants must have one of the following: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in a related to this position. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service, or equivalent, performing data engineering or information technology work that includes all of the following: Developing, maintaining, testing, or supporting automated data pipelines using data processing languages, frameworks, or query tools; Applying cloud-based continuous integration, deployment, testing, or operations practices to support data pipeline workflows; Using artificial intelligence, automation, static analysis, log analysis, or data quality tools to support development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, or anomaly detection; Implementing assigned data architecture patterns, pipeline transformations, or data platform components based on established designs; and Clarifying data requirements, documenting technical solutions, and communicating pipeline status or technical feasibility to customers, stakeholders, or technical teams. Requirements for the GS-12 level: Applicants must have one of the following: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or equivalent, performing data engineering or information technology work that includes: Developing, maintaining, testing, or supporting automated data pipelines using data processing languages, frameworks, or query tools; Applying cloud-based continuous integration, deployment, testing, or operations practices to support data pipeline workflows; Using artificial intelligence, automation, static analysis, log analysis, or data quality tools to improve development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, or anomaly detection; Implementing data architecture patterns, pipeline transformations, or data platform components to meet stakeholder requirements; and Troubleshooting data pipeline failures, documenting technical solutions, and communicating requirements, risks, status, or technical options to customers, stakeholders, or technical team You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
