Job Description
This vacancy is for a GS - 0343 - 9, Business Operations Analyst located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, TRACEN PETALUMA FAC ENG - CONSTRUCTION/MANAGEMENT in PETALUMA, California.
Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-9 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Using statistical analysis, and software to interpret data and identify trends. Reviewing current or new operational procedures, or workflows to determine impact, and recommending processes or procedures for compliance. Assisting in the budget formulation process by analyzing and summarizing budget related information; responding to questions related to the process and preparing budget packages. Utilizing technology platforms and software to compile reports, produce charts and graphs and monitor projects or program status. NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level. To substitute education for experience, you must meet one of the following: A. Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D, in a related field of study, (e.g., Business Administration or Business Management). B. A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described in "A" above. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for a GS-07 may be used to qualify applicants for the GS-09. Therefore, only graduate education beyond the first year of graduate study is qualifying for the GS-09 National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
