Police Officer (Rapid Response Team)

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment. Qualifications: 1. Must be a sworn employee below the rank of Sergeant and must have attained the rank of Private with Training and successfully completed the probationary period by the closing date of this announcement. 2. Must not be in restricted leave status as of the date of selection. 3. Must be available to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, and possible midnight assignments. 4. Must be in the USB Special Response Group (SRG) Program by the closing date of this announcement. 5. Must have successfully completed the Bicycle Response Unit (BRU) training. Certificate must be included with application.
